Amira Haddad
Arabic — Modern Standard and Levantine dialect
4.5 · 2 reviews
I teach both the Arabic you read and the Arabic people speak, and I am direct with new students about the difference, because choosing wrongly wastes a year. If you want the news and books, we do Modern Standard. If you want Beirut and Amman, we do Levantine. Many students eventually do both, in that order.
Lessons are conversation-heavy from the start, with the script introduced gradually — I use transliteration for the first month only, then drop it, and every student tells me afterwards that dropping it early was right.
I have taught at university level and privately since 2012, and I prepare candidates for the ALPT when an institution asks for a certificate.
